New Start Date, week one contest reminder

Hey three all you map based warhammer fantasy campaign players.  We will be moving the start date for the Island of the Chicken Goddess at The Tower Game Center  to 4/19/14.

That gives you one more week to finish up all the watchtowers for the week one contest.  Remember they are supposed to be themed to your list.

Please send me your lists for your banners.  Please be sure to differentiate between banners if two are the same list, even as simply as banner A and banner B.  Of course, you get more out of what you put more into...  So Tugglebear's Banner or Tugglebear's Terrors are perfectly fine names too....

Does anyone have any questions?

We will be getting starting locations on the map on that Saturday.   Be there by 12:30.  See you then!

The rules so far

We are getting near the kickoff of the Island of the Chicken Goddess Warhammer Fantasy map based campaign at the tower game center.  I thought it would be a good idea to give you what the rules look like.

This world is a sandbox.  If you can think of it, and want to spend the points, time, etc to do it, you can give it a try.  Creativity will be rewarded.

First, I would suggest you use the Mordhiem Warband Roster sheet for your armies.  You can keep track of experience and casualties easily with the fill-able PDF found here
Whatever you use to keep track of your armies, the rosters should be easy to read, and clear as to what is in the army.

Second,  Each player will be using one race from Warhammer Fantasy.  Each player may only have one of each named character or magic item.  You will start with 2000 points overall.  You forces may be divided into BANNERS that have a minimum of 500 points.

We will be using most of the old mighty empires rules, which you can find here.
We will not be using the rules for assassins, agents, etc.

You may purchase defensive fortifications with your points.  A lone tower costs 100 points.  Place it on a tile you control during the winter phase.  A castle earns you a discount, 400 points gets you 4 towers and 4 walls with a gate included.  Ask about other structures.

We will be using to Mordhiem Casualty recovery and experience charts found here.

We will be doing one year per week. The exception will be if there is no combat taking place during a year. In the unlikely event that happens, we will take another year turn immediately.  Please have orders for the whole summer phase provided if you cannot be present, otherwise your armies will hold in place for that year.

On Saturday, by 1:30, I will begin executing moves for the summer season.  We will move the summer moves for year one, and if there are any battles we will get them scheduled.  Look forward to seeing you all there!

Our Map Based Campaign Begins

We are going to be starting up a Map based Warhammer Fantasy campaign here at the Tower Game Center in beautiful Suwanee, Georgia.  Our players will begin with 2000 points to use to build their armies.  We will be using most of the old Mighty Empires rules.   We will be using casualty recovery from Mordhiem.  We will be giving one exp for every tabletop battle your army plays and wins, or stays on the board for a minimum of 4 turns.
This is the notice we put up on the door:
The Island of the Chicken Goddess
A Warhammer Fantasy Map Based Campaign
The Tower Game Center presents an ongoing Warhammer Fantasy Map based campaign.  The shores of the Island of the Chicken Goddess have longed been shrouded in mystery and legend.  Bands of adventures have returned with tales of fabulous treasure and terrible horrors. The location of the wandering island is often a lost secret, but recently Skilli Thorsen has returned with only a portion of hardy crew and a mountain of gold.  Expeditions are being mounted by several factions, interested in the gold and legends of the artifacts of the chicken goddess.  Come join the other adventures in search of the treasures of the island.  We start our campaign on 4/12/2014.  Rules will be available on the blog.  A link is on the store website: thetowergamecenter.com
